Learn update blog is here for you. So today we kick start another Course "English Language" a very important course we should pay attention to and seriously learn as English language is the generally most used language in the world today. So now, What is PRONOUN?

Well in an ordinary or a layman's definition, PRONOUN is used instead of a noun [kids definition 😂].. Advanced and general definition, Pronouns are used as substitute for nouns to avoid monotonym [Irrelevant Repitition]. Pronouns are classified according to their grammatical functions :

1. Personal Pronoun : These are further classified according to case. Case is the change undergone by personal Pronoun according to their grammatical functions.
➡️Normative Case [Subject].
➡️Objective Case : They function as object possession case. For example I, we, am, she, his, they, them and you.

2. Reciprocal Pronouns : Each other for two, one another is for more than two people.

3. Reflexive Pronoun : They have the same forms but different grammatical functions :
➡️I - Myself.
➡️He - Himself.
➡️We - Ourselves.
➡️They - Themselves.
➡️You - Yourselves.

4. Demonstrative Pronouns : We have singular and plural in this case,
➡️Singular [This] = Plural [These]
➡️Singular [That] = Plural [Those].

5. Quantify Pronouns :
➡️Countable Pronouns - Many ↔️A few ↔️Few.
➡️Uncountable Pronouns - Much ↔️A little ↔️Little.

NOUN PHRASES: Noun phrase is a group of words with noun or a pronoun as the headword. Articles and other words that precede the noun to create the noun phrase are referred to as modifiers because they make the noun specific by describing it.

1. Noun Phrases as Complements of Verbs : In English sentences, the subject shows the performer of an action, the verb shows the action that is performed, or the state of being [when it is called a linking verb]. The complement completes the subject, as shown in the following examples
➡️ The new coach is a nice man.
Explanation : (The new coach) is the subject in this sentence and (a nice man) is noun phrase as complement.

2. Noun Phrases as Complement of objects : Recall that an object is the receiver of an action in a sentence, for example ;
➡️I saw Ahmed at the cinema.
Explanation : ( I ) is the subject, (Saw) is the verb and (Ahmed) is the object.

In another case, The Noun Phrase that complements the object tells you more about the object in the sentence. Example:
➡️We call James a hero.
Explanation : (We) is the subject, (call) is the verb, (James) is the object and (a hero) is the object complement.
